Where the Chowder Came From
Clam chowder is an extremely popular dish with some classic roots based right here in New England. But what gave birth to such a dish and who brought it to be?
Chowder as it is known today originated as a shipboard dish and was thickened with the use of hardtack. Chowder was brought to North America with immigrants from England and France and seafarers more than 250 years ago. As we all know today, this delicious dish became quite popular and is now a widely used dish as it is simple to prepare.
