Blount Announces New Hires, Promotions
IT, Purchasing, Sales & Marketing Get Reinforcements
Taken from Company Press Release issued March 12, 2014 – Blount Fine Foods, a leading manufacturer of handcrafted artisan soups, sauces and side dishes for retail and foodservice, today announced four key personnel moves, including two strategic hires and two well-deserved promotions. Joining Blount are Ed Moran as director of information technology, and Kendra Galary as a purchasing associate. The promotions, both of which came from within Blount’s national sales & marketing organization, were Rachael Girard to marketing specialist, and Matt Yusen to retail sales specialist.
“As Blount continues to grow as a company, in both scale and sophistication, two things happen,” said Todd Blount, company president. “First, our people grow in ability and sophistication, which we recognize with the promotions announced today; and second, we need to add capable people to the team to ensure we continue to deliver at a level that exceeds customer expectations.”
Ed Moran, who reports to Blount’s chief financial officer, takes the helm of an IT function that includes a highly computerized and automated, state-of-the-art food production plant. He joins the company from Entergy’s electric power station in Plymouth, Mass. Prior to that he spent ten years in technology at Slade Gorton & Co. in Boston. Moran resides in Marshfield, Mass.
Kendra Galary, who joins Blount from Fairhaven Excavating, Inc., where she was an accounting clerk, will plan, coordinate and manage activities related to the procurement of materials, equipment and ingredients the company uses on an ongoing basis. Galary is a resident of Fairhaven, Mass.
Rachael Girard, who joined Blount in 2009 as a marketing coordinator, has stepped up to the role of marketing specialist, which has her providing marketing support to Blount’s national sales team as well as coordinating public relations and social media efforts for Blount’s manufacturing and retail operations. Girard resides in Barrington, RI.
Matt Yusen takes on the job of retail sales specialist after 2.5 years spent as a marketing coordinator. In his new role, he is responsible for developing and executing foodservice sales activities at the retail store level to ensure impactful delivery of the Blount experience across Blount and customer brands. Yusen resides in Fall River, Mass.
“As our sales efforts continue to expand in both breadth and depth, having reliable, quick-thinking and creative people on the ground and back in the office is essential,” added Bob Sewall, Blount’s executive vice president of sales & marketing. “Rachael and Matt have worked hard and smart to get to where they are, and we are excited about what they will accomplish in their new roles.”
